Even though Allen and I got engaged a while ago, we never got the chance to take pictures! To be honest, it wasn't even something we were planning on doing, to begin with. But once we found our wedding photographer, the engagement shoot was included in the package, so we thought why not!

I think the hardest part for me was not having my hair freshly colored for the shoot- lol! The engagement shoot was scheduled too close to the wedding, so my hairdresser told me to hold off if I wanted my hair to look perfect for the wedding. Other than that, I absolutely love how the pictures turned out.

We wanted to get to Griffith Observatory early morning before it got super crowded, so we had to wake up at 3 AM to get ready. Rough, I know. What's even worst is that we were out at a concert the night before so I only got 2 hours of sleep! Yikes.

I got a blowout the day before at Drybar just so I wouldn't have to worry about my hair- best decision- so all I had to do was my makeup! I actually was so pleased with the way it turned out. I went for a warm golden eye with individual lashes and my go-to glossy lips.

My favorite part of the look has to be this Self Portrait dress. The second I tried it on I fell in love with the design and fit. The details on this dress are just stunning without being too flashy or overwhelming. I knew I wanted to wear a white dress, but it was actually a little harder than I thought to find the perfect white dress for an engagement shoot. So happy I came across this one!

To keep the focus on the dress and to add to the white theme I was going for, I chose these really simple white heeled sandals to go with it. My sleep deprived brain entirely forgot about earrings, but oh well! At least I remembered to stack on the rings :)

I'm really happy we ended up doing this shoot. Not only did it give us pictures to frame, but it was also great practice for the wedding day! I'm so used to Allen taking my photos, so I definitely needed training before the big day! I posted a little BTS video on my IGTV, click here to check it out!
